Photography has been a love of mine for so much of my life. I have always held a curiosity and fascination around alternative process techniques. Creating cyanotypes has held a role of joyful permission in my process of engaging what I'm drawn to creating. I see printing possibilities everywhere I go.

Cyanotype is an old photographic process that produces a distinctive cyan-blue print. It works by using light-sensitive iron salts on a surface, which react to UV light and turn a Prussian blue color when washed with water.

I love creating cyanotypes! There are literally endless possibilities, which really engages my sense of wonder and excitement. Every print is 100% unique and cannot be recreated exactly as it is because the sun and the plants are always changing. Even when working with negatives to make a print, there are always variations to how the image translates.
Each print is its own celebration of story, nature, and individuality.
